A Place of Their Own is a Sheffield-based experimental contemporary art and critical spatial practice where Sam Vardy and Paula McCloskey intertwine these fields to investigate contemporary conditions and create new spaces, imaginaries and subjectivities. Through performances, spatial interventions, audio-visual art and research, their projects explore the transformative potential of art and spatial practice to suggest other worlds yet to become. Becomings enacted through collaboration, by asking questions, provoking dialogue and testing ideas, manifesting the production of subjectivity and taking the radical imagination back from the grip of neoliberal forces.
