Vansa (Visual Arts Network South Africa) is a Johannesburg-based development agency for the visual arts in South Africa, mapping and promoting independent practice, connection, access and innovation in the industry. They develop industry knowledge, resources and projects that are concerned with realising new social, cultural and economic possibilities for contemporary art practice in the South African – and wider African – context.

Together with Picha, Vansa has been working on the development of PAN!C (Pan African Network for Independent Contemporaneity), an experimental platform which seeks to stimulate networking, project development and the presentation of African independent art practitioners work. Part of the program is about developing/growing a discourse around post-colonial perspectives on social practice.
