Dissidents is a book gathering a collection of photos taken by Japanese photographer Takashi Hamaguchi during the long years of student and anti-government protests between 1966 and 2015 in Japan.

Hamaguchi is known for recording socio-political issues and events regarding American military bases, the Niigata earthquake, student and Sanrizuka struggles. Through the large body of work he produced over the years including various subjects and locations, he let us grasp the social-political conditions of Japanese post-war society as well as his own passion and sensibility towards the core subjects of his images.
