Advaya (meaning One in Sanskrit) is a London based systemic change platform building a community of change-makers around the principles of radical regeneration and joyful revolution. They started in 2015 and since then have organised over 90 events, invited over 170 speakers and gathered over 8000 people together exploring the connection of inner transformation and social change.
Their educational platform, campaigns and events shift narratives seeing the interconnected crises we are faced with today as a call to radical action: an opportunity to evolve, to come together and co-create. They have also partnered with more than 70 non-profits and charities including Extinction Rebellion, Centre for Biographical Storytelling, Indigenous Rights, Rewild Everything, Amnesty International, Global Justice Now, The Sustainable Angle, Local Futures, Community Centred Knowledge, War on Want, Organising for Change and The Emergence Network among many others.
They cultivate informed communities, link networks, and advocate alternatives, practices and knowledge in the areas of Food & Farming, Economy & Localisation, Consciousness & Spirituality, Activism & Change-Making, Health & Wellbeing and Narratives & Story-Telling. Their events vary from workshops to talks, screenings and panel discussions, festivals and retreats.
The most interesting thing about Advaya is being the only organisation known so far – apart from the also London based Collective Psychology- not only gracefully linking the interconnection of our contemporary social struggles but offering resources for both inner and outer activism, working for a revolution that to be social needs to be personal first not leaving our emotional and spiritual work behind. Also probably the only one organising affordable retreats for rebels. So if you happen to be or bring yourself around for some extra grounding self-care and link-up with other activists folks see you there on February !
