Shado is a multimedia platform driving change at the intersection of arts, activism and academia. A lived-experience led community of artists, activists, and writers united as a network to cultivate a culture-led system change towards social justice and collective liberation.
Through online and print magazines, Shado provides a physical space for those across different fields, who are currently working in isolation, to co-exist. They work with a community of over 300 artists, activists and journalists in over 50 countries around the world to spotlight and celebrate necessary and innovative stories
Alongside the magazine, they curate collaborative events to engage wider communities in Shado’s mission and further support and promote the work of their contributors. These include exhibitions, panel discussions, performances, workshops, and film screenings. Relationships are the bedrock of Shado, and events are a way to connect with the people and communities they meet through their work. They also create, produce, and facilitate a range of different projects in order to actively connect with the topics they are exploring in the publication. They have collaborated with organisations from Amnesty International to Alliance for Choice.
