After organising the first Afroconciencia Festival in 2016 happening once a year at Matadero in Madrid since, Espacio Afro has been born as a cultural and political space to keep working on a daily basis on everything related to the African-Spanish and African/African diaspora community in Spain, through a broad cultural programme with a post-colonial perspective.
Espacio Afro is the first hub of African-Spanish culture in Spain and is organised by activists Esther Mayoko, Lucía Asué Mbomío, Deborah Ekoka, Yeison García, Rubén H. Bermúdez and Moha Gerehou.
