Decolonization in Action is a Berlin-based podcast hosted by Edna Bonhomme and co-produced by Kristyna Comer interrogating how people are challenging the legacies of colonialism through art, activism, and knowledge – especially as people advocate for restitution and repair.
While calls for decolonising science, education, and museums are becoming more prominent, knowledge practices of western academia and of present-day colonising nation states remain largely unchanged. In conversation with historians, activists, artists, and curators, this podcast aims to unravel how decolonisation is understood, and most importantly how decolonisation is being practiced today.
Edna Bonhomme is a historian, prolific writer, curator, and lecturer and she is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science. Her work interrogates disease, gender, surveillance, and embodiment guided by diasporic futurisms, herbal healing, and bionic beings.
